|A challenging layout, in a unique natural environment”, Severiano Ballesteros
The 18 hole golf course was specially designed by the world famous player Severiano Ballesteros, considered European Player of the Century, who now owns Trajectory, S.L., the company responsible for the project.
The Quinta do Vale golf course has been designed to attract golfers of every level and will be a strong candidate for hosting important international championships.
Covering an area of 75 hectares, the course is fully integrated into the surrounding natural landscape, taking full advantage of the undulating terrain giving a unique character to each of the 18 holes. The purpose with which it was designed is evident in the unusual way that the different holes balance each other and in the singular features which complement and distinguishes them by embankments, lakes, bunkers, hillocks and hollows. Severiano Ballesteros has created a highly attractive course, characterized by the various levels of difficulty that will be a challenge to beginners and a test of skill for more experienced players.
One of the priorities of the whole project was to take full advantage of the natural possibilities of the Quinta and, at the same time, preserve and promote its environmental quality.
To ensure these objectives were met, the property development projects have been co-coordinated by the renowned urban and landscape designer, Sidónio Pardal.
Natural resource management was another primary concern in this project and this is evident with water in the various lakes and lagoons being recycled and in the way that the indigenous flora of the wetlands is being encouraged and preserved. Around 8,000 trees of species native to the region have been planted to safeguard the ecosystem and give the golf course a unique natural landscape. The sustainability of the project is also guaranteed by the implementation of an Environmental Management System, which conforms to the ISO norm 14001.
In short, the promoters of Quinta do Vale Golf Resort, in collaboration with Severiano Ballesteros, have designed a golf course that aims to position itself as one of the top courses in the Algarve if not the entire Iberian Peninsula.
